How to Get Rid of Malaria | Foods & Healthy Recipes

Malaria is a disease caused by the transmission of a parasite through the bite of an infected mosquito. Some of the common symptoms of this condition are chills, high fever and muscle pain. One may also suffer from vomiting and diarrhoea. If left untreated, malaria can prove to be fatal.


Symptoms to look for:

• Chills
• High fever
• Muscle pain
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea



• Caused by transmission of parasite


Food groups to consume in malaria:

1. Iron: Maintains red blood cells count

Foods to consume: Spinach, beans, prunes and garden cress seeds

2. Liquids: Prevents dehydration

Foods to consume: Fruit and vegetable juices, green tea, buttermilk, lemon juice and barley water

3. Easy to digest & high energy foods

Foods to consume: Rice, boiled potatoes, carrots, wheat porridge (dalia), finger millet (ragi), sorghum (jowar), oats, fish, boiled chicken,steamed sprouts, bananas, pineapples, papayas, oranges, grapes, apples and mangoes


Recipes based on the above food groups:

Recipe 1: Lentil dish

1. Heat 1tsp oil in a pressure cooker
2. Now, add 1 tbsp chopped onion
3. Also add ¼ tsp ginger garlic paste
4. Now cook this mixture till the onion turns pink
5. Now, add ½ chopped tomato
6. Also add 1 chopped green chilli
7. Now add some turmeric powder and a pinch of red chilli
8. Let it fry for 1 minute
9. Then, add 15-20 chopped spinach leaves
10. Add ¼ chopped carrot as well
11. Now cook this mixture for 5-7 minutes
12. Once done, add ¼ cup of washed rice
13. Also add 2 tbsp washed green gram lentil (moong dal)
14. Then, add 2 cups of water
15. Add some salt to taste
16. Now, pressure cook all these ingredients for 2-3 whistles till
the rice is cooked
17. Serve hot

Recipe 2: Juice

1. Add 1 orange in a juicer
2. Also add 3-4 slices of papaya in it
3. Add 1 banana as well
4. Blend them all together
5. Now, add 1 tsp honey
6. Mix well
